I own a Dell Dimension and recently every time I start my computer or reboot it, it takes 20 minutes to wlndows to the desktop and also has a black screen. This problem has only happened recently and I am not sure what is causing it and so any tips would be gratefully received. And when I did a test on the hard drive one of the internal hard drives had a result of "Fail - Return Code 7". I am not sure if this has been caused by a virus or is a result of mechanical failure within the hard drive itself.

Are you saying categorically that this error code only occurs because the hard drive itself is failing and not because eindows any type of virus? It's not a virus, the drive has failed and needs to be replaced.

I am a winodws as far as computers are concerned bokt all I can give you is the details I have which are that this Dell Dimension computer appears to have two internal hard drives of GB each.
